About the Bloomington Sister City Organization

The Bloomington Sister City Organization, Inc. (BSCO), promotes international understanding through exchanges of people, information, and ideas.

Our goal is to be the bridge that connects people from the cities of Bloomington and Izumi through programs and exchanges.

In 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower had a vision -- one of fostering grassroots understanding among people of all nations. He established the People-to-People Program, and the international Sister Cities Program emerged. BSCO is a proud member Sister Cities International, which promotes peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation at a time when the importance of learning to live together has never been more critical.
